(1) Defining News


            Everyday we find out news whether it’s sports, crime, weather, or any type of issue or situation going on in the world. News can be transferred in many ways such as TV, radio, podcast, as well as word of mouth. Nowadays I find myself getting a lot of news off of social media whether it's something going on in the world or the usual sports update on the MLB instagram account. 

With the way technology and social media has evolved over the past 20 years has changed the way news is spread worldwide. With just a few clicks you can find out almost anything from anywhere about anything. The biggest downfall with social media and all technology in general is that you can also post whatever you want. So not everything is always true, sometimes informing people the wrong information. People may be raised with a certain belief or already have their own perspective on a certain topic making them already have a predetermined opinion. This leads to people to take things wrong or differently than others because they have been informed with false information prior.

News can be anything shared with you in any type of way whether it’s important or not. If it's something you didn't know that already happened or is currently going on it’s considered news. I think nowadays social media is the easiest way to find news as long as it’s a credible source. News is something that’s been around since we could communicate and it will continue to be around till the end of time.

Saturday the state of Tennessee went on a Tornado watch. After only a few hours of being on watch, disaster happened. The whole state of Tennessee was in danger 13 different tornadoes touched down after officials confirmed Sunday afternoon after the disaster. One of the estimated 13 tornados traveled nearly 43 miles from the Clarksville area in Montgomery County to Logan County .  Anyone in the Middle Tennessee area was in danger, one can only imagine the feelings these people had while hiding from a natural disaster waiting to happen. Officials said 6 people died Saturday night in Clarksville as well as a  total of 83 people had to be transported to the hospital- 62 of those from Clarksville and 21 from the Nashville area. Sadly of those 83 nine of them were in critical condition and had to be transported to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. (20) Wild Card

          This past week two time MVP Shohei Ohtani signed the biggest contract in baseball history. The former Los Angeles Angels star moved down the street to the in-city rival Los Angeles Dodgers. He signed for 10 years $700 million, which is $300 million more than the 2nd highest paid player in the league, Mike Trout who signed for 12 years $426. The contract is absolutely insane, the fact that Ohtani has only been in the league for 3 years now and signed the biggest contract in history, it’s legendary.                                     Shohei’s contract was deferred which means that for the next 10 years while Ohtani is on contract he will be paid $2 million a year. (4) Hometown Hard News

         A fire broke out early Monday afternoon and was contained by 4:30 pm that evening at an under-construction home in Rollingwood, Texas. The Austin fire department was the first on the scene around 2 o'clock that afternoon. Chief David Wilson said a few minutes later the fire was " through the roof " and the house was engulfed in flames. More than 100 customers were affected by the power outage it caused throughout the neighborhood.
